T H E -------- WHAT
From… Traditional Church Forms (program driven)
o Mid-week worship services
o Mid-week Bible studies
o Small Groups (these would be groups that are driven by established forms or systems that might be rigid and in flexible).
To… Organic Church Growth (life and relationship driven)
o Simple/organic forms (groups form out of intentional relationships)
o Intentional reproduction (natural living things reproduce). These groups are life and relationship driven. The groups are intended to be simple, flexible, and respond to where the Spirit leads. Our hope is that lives will be changed. As each group starts, it will have the intention to reproduce itself when the time is appropriate.
T H E -------- WHY
Organic Groups exist to formally and informally train Christ followers to develop lives of mission and discipleship.
From… Consumers
The church has become a vendor of religious goods and service where people come to be served and to “get†something.
To… Missionary Priests
1 Peter 2:9
“But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.â€

T H E --------- HOW
3 Criteria for Organic Groups
1. Intentional about the essence of the church through living lives of intentional Worship, Mission and Community.
2. 3 or more people. Find two other people of like mind and commitment to start and maintain a group.
3. Accountable to the leadership of TMC (this is not just for accountability but also for encouragement, coaching and support). This means that each Org Group facilitator/leader is in relationship with the leadership of TMC and is keeping them updated on the content and health of their group.
How do groups form?
The idea is that org groups will form in two ways.
1. As a multiplication of an existing group. It may have the same focus or something completely different.
2. An individual with a passion/interest finds two others of like mind to help them start. After which a meeting with TMC leadership is set up and then goes from there.
What kind of groups could exist?
That's up to God, you, and a few other people. The idea is that a common "thread" brings several of you together. The lenses of our essence focus you, taking the group beyond just hanging out toward spiritual maturity.
